International

Fenwick Elliott has considerable experience of acting for international contractors on major construction and infrastructure projects worldwide.

Geographical spread

Our geographical spread ranges from wind farm projects in northern Europe to the major gas fields and pipelines in Turkmenistan and from energy projects in Wales, Iraq and the Caribbean to the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan, and power and desalination projects throughout the Middle East. Our infrastructure work, for example advising on disputes on transport projects across the UK, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, continues to flourish.

Dubai office

We have an office in Dubai, UAE to advise our international and local clients in relation to their construction and energy projects in the Middle East.

Our international outlook means that we are familiar with the major international contract forms or bespoke contracts derived from those forms. We regularly work with project teams providing ongoing support and strategic advice as projects progress. This ranges from formal risk analysis and project audits to advising on project correspondence.

Where disputes do arise, we have a number of specialist partners dedicated to international arbitration who regularly deal with cases involving major construction, infrastructure and energy projects all over the world, often with significant sums of money and tight deadlines at stake. This gives us the capability to handle all cases from start to finish, irrespective of size or complexity, since we are familiar with the international rules, including ICC, LCIA, DIAC, SIAC, ICSID and UNCITRAL.
