Closely controlled laboratory system
Acting for a contractor in relation to the alleged defective design and construction of a closely controlled laboratory system at a prestigious university in the UK.
One problem that arose included the ability to maintain set environmental conditions in relation to both temperature and humidity throughout the changing seasons. There was a further question over the changing use of the laboratories themselves.
In order to understand the design and functionality issues, we undertook a detailed review of the contract and specification documentation. We also ensured that the client was fully advised about his legal options.
We then worked with the client and experts to establish the legal and realistic factual cause of the problem at the laboratory.
Once the cause of the problem was established we were able to find a solution that was acceptable to our client, without becoming involved in a full-scale legal dispute.
