James Mullen
Contract experience
James has experience with JCT and a number of bespoke contracts. James has also worked with lenders and developers in connection with professional appointments, collateral warranties and novation agreements.
Dispute resolution experience
James has a broad range of experience in construction and engineering disputes and has been involved in all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation. He has advised clients on various contentious issues including performance of contract, non-payment, retention bonds and retention of title. James has also been involved in a number of high value disputes, including disputes relating to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Since joining Fenwick Elliott, James has been predominantly working on a high value ICC arbitration dispute in connection with a gas pipeline in the Caribbean.
Career
James graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2004 with a BA (Hons) degree in History. James worked at Fenwick Elliott as a paralegal during 2005 before undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the University of the West of England. He completed his training contract with Wedlake Bell LLP and qualified as a solicitor in 2010. James joined Fenwick Elliott in February 2011.
