Jatinder Garcha

Jatinder has over 10 years experience in non-contentious domestic and international construction and projects work. He acts for the full spectrum of clients involved in the development process including, financial institutions, pension and property funds, government departments, investors, developers, contractors, consultants and tenants, advising from inception and procurement strategies to project completion.
Jatinder has broad experience of dealing with and negotiating standard forms of contract including the FIDIC, JCT, NEC, ICE, IchemE, RIBA and ACE suite of documents. He also has vast experience of drafting and negotiating bespoke construction and commercial contracts, including EPC contracts, bonds, guarantees, memorandums of understating, heads of terms, consortium agreements, joint venture agreements, framework agreements and facility management contracts.
Specialist experience
Jatinder acts in a wide range of construction and engineering sectors, including, general construction, PFI (schools, hospitals and MoD), transport, roads and highways, hotels, office buildings, industrial and residential.
In the last few years Jatinder’s experience has had a particular focus on the energy from waste sector (PFI and non-PFI) and the renewable energy sector, including projects involving wind farms, tidal power, solar power and bio-mass power stations.
Examples of Jatinder’s experience include:
- Advising a German/Danish joint venture contractor on its £400 million contract as foundations contractor, supplier and installer of monopiles for one of the world’s largest off-shore wind farm projects.
- Part of the team advising the utilities providers in relation to the £8 billion PFI project procured by the Ministry of Defence for the construction of new garrisons and new living accommodation.
- Advising the London Development Agency on construction aspects of its £1.5 billion proposed re-development of the Silvertown Docks area of East London, including the proposed construction of a new state of the art aquarium.
- Advising a well known residential developer on the constructions aspects of a large multi million pound brownfield regeneration project in North West London, to be constructed in phases over a 16 year period.
- Advising a major UK contractor in relation to its construction of an integrated waste management facility in South London. Advising the contractor on the main construction contract and ancillary documents.
