Contract experience

David is experienced in a wide range of standard form contracts, in
particular the ICE, MF/1 and IChemE. In addition to the more
traditional procurement methods, he also has extensive experience in
bespoke framework, partnering and target cost arrangements for major
projects.

General experience

David specialises in major construction projects with a particular
emphasis on the non-contentious aspects. As well as advising on
traditional development agreements, he also has experience of major
civil and rail engineering projects which have included the West Coast
Route Modernisation programme and Channel Tunnel Rail Link. His
expertise ranges from general procurement strategies and choice of
standard form contract through to drafting bespoke amendments and other
project documentation.

David's contentious experience ranges from multi-million pound
value engineering and target cost disputes to the more traditional
final account issues.

Career

David qualified as a solicitor with Taylor Joynson Garrett (now
Taylor Wessing) before moving in-house to Canary Wharf Group plc and
then to Network Rail in 2003. David joined Fenwick Elliott as an
assistant solicitor in October 2005,
becoming an Associate in April 2006.

David is a member of the Law Society.
